After the disappointing performance of ‘The Marvel,’ ‘Deadpool 3’ has become a crucial film for the makers; it’s a make-it-or-break-it moment for production. Deadpool 3 Budget Revealed
According to a close source of production, Walt Disney Studios’ threequel ‘Deadpool 3’ is going to be one of the most expensive superhero films, with a production budget of around $250 million before prints and advertising costs. Easily more expensive than its predecessors, including the $58 million budgeted ‘Deadpool’ and $110 million budgeted ‘Deadpool 2.’ ‘Deadpool 3’ shares a similar budget with Walt Disney’s top-tier films such as ‘Wakanda Forever,’ ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3’. Furthermore, ‘Deadpool 3’ is one of the most expensive films of the year, alongside other high-budget productions like ‘Argylle,’ ‘Dune: Part Two,’ ‘Mufasa: The Lion King,’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.’
Notable is that these numbers are not the final figures, as the film is currently in the post-production phase. However, these are the numbers that Walt Disney Studios has decided to allocate for the film— the pre-production estimates. Although the production costs reflect the same numbers even after the film’s release, there is a possibility that the final figures may be slightly higher. The high budget of ‘Deadpool 3’ may surprise many followers because the budgets of the first two films were relatively low. But if you follow Walt Disney, you probably know that productions have always been known for overspending.
The production has already spent hundreds of millions on average films and shows, including the $275 million budget for ‘The Marvels,’ $225 million for ‘She-Hulk,’ $212 million for ‘Secret Invasion,’ $250 million for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ and $200 million for ‘Quantumania.’ Therefore, spending a considerable amount on ‘Deadpool 3,’ which is an important film, is not a special or surprising occurrence. Even many industry experts are jokingly saying that if Walt Disney wants, he can make a film on Groot for $200 million, regardless of whether the audience wants it or not.
According to insiders, Walt Disney spent the most money on Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy for the threequel, while the rest of the cast crew were hired inexpensively. However, the overall remuneration expenses are relatively small compared to the production costs, as 80% of the total budget for the film will be allocated to production expenses, including VFX, shooting sets, post-production work, etc. Overall, the numbers mark the biggest gamble of the year for Walt Disney Studios, and the success of the film will be crucial given its substantial budget.
